The magic slopes of the Fojaneghe vineyards belong to the Counts Bossi Fedrigotti of Rovereto. Situated in the district of Mori and Isera, in the province of Trento, at an altitude of 300 m s.l., they have basaltic limestone soil, good day-to-night temperature excursions, low humidity and excellent ventilation thanks to the Ora breezes that blow through the late afternoon from Lake Garda. The magic of this place is due to its position on hillside slopes to the right of the Adige River, which benefit from morning sunlight and stay sunny until mid-to-late afternoon, giving the location a particularly mild climate.
Research by the Masi Technical Group has identified which of the six varieties of soil are the most suitable for the Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Teroldego grapes which go into the make-up of Fojaneghe wine - the first example of a Bordeaux blend in Italy when first made in 1961.
