WINE SPECTATOR: VAIO ARMARON ONE OF THE GREAT WINES OF THE WORLD

02/04/2015
Masi Serego Alighieri Vaio Armaron  2008 has an outstanding award from Wine Spectator: 95/100 points, putting it in the “Classic” category and making it one of the world’s greatest wines, according to this American magazine. Our Amarone was also put in the “Hot Wines” class, or rather “the Wine Spectator’s most remarkable discoveries: some of the world’s most highly awarded wines, rare and often difficult to find, but worth taking the trouble to search for.” This historic Amarone cru with a noble heritage, the icon wine from Storiche Possessioni Serego Alighieri, with grapes coming from the eponymous vineyard, which is quite possibly the origin of the name “Amarone” itself, is described in Wine Spectator’s tasting note as: “An elegant, impeccably balanced red, layering sculptured tannins with finely knit flavors of plumped black cherry, plum sauce, cured tobacco, dark chocolate and woodsy spice. A rich vein of smoky minerality sings on the lasting finish.”
