LEONARDO QUALITÀ ITALIA AWARD
Masi Agricola today received the “Leonardo Qualità Italia Award”, which the Leonardo Committee presents every year to companies that represent the best of the Made in Italy brand as well as the quality of Italian production across the world. The President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Chair of the Leonardo Committee Luisa Todini presented the important award to Masi's Chairman Sandro Boscaini this morning at the Quirinal Palace, during a ceremony attended by the Italian Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda, the Chairman of the ICE Agency Michele Scannavini, and the Chairman of Confindustria (the Italian employers’ association) Vincenzo Boccia.
The Leonardo Award is conferred to entrepreneurs whose companies stood out during the year for the quality and level of innovation of their products, as well their strong international sales and manufacturing presence. This has always been the approach of Masi Agricola, which has been reaping success after success in the markets where it operates. Thanks to its wines, the company is considered an ambassador for the values of the Italian Wine Style as well as the tradition and uniqueness of the terroirs in the Triveneto region.
The Knight of Labour Sandro Boscaini, Masi Agricola Chairman, said at the end of the ceremony: “I am extremely honoured to receive this coveted award. Together with a series of previous international accolades, it shows that quality pays off in terms of both economic performance and reputation. Masi was the first fine wine brand to list its shares on the Italian Stock Exchange—proving once more its ability to innovate. This award comes at a time when the company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its flagship Campofiorin wine, the precursor to a ‘new category of wines from the Verona area’ that is highly innovative as well as deep-rooted in the tradition and the territory—as all our products are.”
Under the innovative leadership of Sandro Boscaini, over time Masi has grown to become a hub of local world-class products that brings together the best wine-making experiences and traditions of the Triveneto region. Masi has a strong international presence: it operates in nearly 100 countries, exports account for approximately 90% of revenues, and its fine wines are included in the most influential global rankings.
The Leonardo Committee, chaired by Luisa Todini, is composed of famous entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, and intellectuals. The Award was founded by Confindustria and ICE, among others, and since 1995 has been under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic.
