Ristorante Biffi celebrated by offering guests an aperitif of Canevel Prosecco Superiore DOCG followed by an exclusive dinner for friends and business partners held in the historic premises visited by famous guests such as Hemingway and Toscanini in the past. Each course in the dinner that evening was accompanied by a Masi wine in a menu prepared by the Masi chef, Vitangelo Galluzzi from Tenuta Canova, who proposed a Venetian theme with dishes that included risotto with Campofiorin wine, combined with references to more than 500 years of Milanese history with Torta Garibaldi, the restaurant’s tribute to one of its most famous clients in the second half of the 19th century.
This was a unique occasion that strengthened the friendship between Tarcisio De Bacco – the owner of the Biffi restaurant – and the Boscaini family, who offered the special anniversary edition of Campofiorin (2014), bottled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Masi’s iconic red wine, for the occasion.
Alessandra Boscaini, seventh generation family member and sales director of Masi commented: “History honours history, and a company with long traditions like Masi could not be absent from these celebrations. Apart from anything else, our wines have been part of the fabric of this historic Milanese restaurant for decades now, conveying their message of quality, Italian style, and love for the territory to its particular international clientele. Some think it an old fashioned quality, but a long commercial relationship with respect and correctness on both sides has matured into a deep friendship between our family and the Tarcisio de Bacco family.”
