The Masi Wine Experience has won an award in the “Facilities” section as one of the leading proponents of wine tourism. The Experience is Masi’s detailed project to bring the world of wine to the attention of consumers at an international level, together with the emotions it evokes, its territorial location and the economic and cultural references that surround it.

The award was given to Masi President, Sandro Boscaini, during an event held in Verona organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Verona and Unicredit. The citation runs:

“For having created a tour of experiences connected with wine that highlights all aspects of the subject and satisfies the curiosity of the most demanding wine tourist. The Masi Wine Experience project provides a journey through all the various aspects of oenological tourism and transforms it into a learning opportunity, a chance to deepen knowledge and have a relaxing time. In particular, we would like to underline the unique nature of the facilities to be found inside the historic Possessioni Serego Alighieri property, belonging to descendants of the Supreme Poet, Dante Alighieri, which give the visitor the chance to dive into the history of a noble family residing in the magnificent territory of Valpolicella: a unique experience with important evocative meaning.”

This underlines Masi’s position as a fully-fledged member of the worldwide “Great Wine Capitals” movement. Together with six other wineries from the region, the company will represent the Verona region in the final of the international wine tourism competition “Best of Wine Tourism”, to be held in Chile at the beginning of 2018. Eight other wine capitals will take part: Adelaide-South Australia, Bilbao-Rioja, Bordeaux, Mainz-Rheinhessen, Porto, San Francisco-Napa Valley, Valparaiso-Casablanca Valley and Mendoza, where Masi has its Tupungato estate.

Presented with his prize, Sandro Boscaini commented: “The Masi Wine Experience is a strategic project for Masi and for its growth. We are carrying it out at an international level and we are honoured that the Chamber of Commerce considers it worthy of the "Best of Wine Tourism" award that promotes prestigious wine regions. The Masi Wine Experience is active in two regions already recognised by the Prize: Verona and Mendoza in Argentina, where Masi has created a tour to discover biodiversity in the Argentinian desert. The same idea has recently led us to open the Masi Wine Discovery Museum at Tenuta Canova on Lake Garda. The aim is to give the visitor privileged access to the territories and the excitements that only wine can provide."

Masi Wine Experience is the hospitality and culture project that sees Masi open the doors of its various properties: in Valpolicella visits can be made to the historic Masi headquarters and guests are welcomed at the noble Possessioni Serego Alighieri, where they can also enjoy exclusive accommodation; at Tenuta Canova in Lazise del Garda local cuisine and food and wine matching can be experienced; in Zürich there’s the elegant Masi Wine Bar and Restaurant; and at Masi Tupungato in the Mendoza region of Argentina guests are welcomed to a company that farms in a totally eco-sustainable fashion in a real oasis of biodiversity.

This initiative is part of Masi’s development strategy, designed to communicate the values of the company and its region. The same aim has recently led the company to complete the jigsaw with another piece of the project: the Masi Wine Discovery Museum, an authentic “museum of wine experiences” set up as part of Tenuta Canova on Lake Garda.
