Masi Agricola, on the AIM market of the Italian Stock Exchange, has been given a prize as part of the first edition of the Foodcommunity Awards. The event, organised by, gave awards to 27 leading businesses in the Restaurant and the Food & Beverage worlds, which had all excelled themselves in business terms in their own sector.

Sandro Boscaini, President of Masi Agricola, and Federico Girotto, the MD, were there to receive the prize for the “Food & Beverage and Finance” sector, recognising Masi as “a company that has succeeded in marrying together the worlds of wine and finance, and which is deriving the benefits today.”

Sandro Boscaini, President of Masi Agricola commented: “We’re proud of this award, which recognises Masi as a pioneer in the type of marriage which has hitherto been thought unfeasible: wine and finance. Today, the world of wine is changing as it deals with new thinking and new markets, and ways of doing business in this sector have to adapt. Once again, we see recognition for Masi’s ability to innovate: recognition for how the world of finance can be useful in facing up to these challenges. Doing business and making wine are both part of entrepreneurial culture, and finance is an integral part of it.”

Federico Girotto, Managing Director of Masi Agricola added: “This prize underlines Masi’s particular standing in the world of wine: a company quoted on the Bourse which has used the resulting funds to make its business grow and to confront the challenges of the international market effectively. Investors who have believed in Masi have shown their understanding of the wine world and how to appreciate it. Proof of this is the success of our ‘Masi Investor Club’ project for retail investors, whose investment enables them to experience the reality and the feeling behind investing in a company like Masi.”
