Prime Minister Mario Draghi visits Masi

Prime Minister Mario Draghi decided to include Masi in his institutional tour.

Chairman Sandro Boscaini, CEO Federico Girotto and Raffaele Boscaini, Marketing Director of Masi and Chairman of Confindustria Verona acted as hosts, welcoming Prime Minister Mario Draghi, the President of the Veneto Regional Council, Luca Zaia and the representatives of the local institutions, the Prefect of Verona, Donato Cafagna and the Mayor of Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella, Roberto Zorzi.

The tour of the cellars also offered the opportunity to preview the innovative “Masi Operations & Visitor Centre”, the extensive structured currently under development that will celebrate the Anniversary of 250 harvests (1772-2022) by the Boscaini family in the “Vaio dei Masi” vineyard that gave the name to the company that has now become an international brand. It is an architectonic complex that extends Masi’s historic cellars, a multi-purpose wine-tourism structure that comes under the scope of the Masi Wine Experience, with an imposing room for appassimento, where tradition combines with the latest technology: a real “entry-gate” into the land of the Amarone.

"We are extremely honoured by the visit. It is an acknowledgement of the long-standing Masi tradition, its status as a representation of the territory and the quality of its wines, appreciated the world over”, commented Sandro Boscaini. “It is a unique opportunity to involve the Prime Minister, Mr Draghi, and the institutions of the projects in progress, aiming to enrich the Masi brand with new meaning and involve the consumer directly and emotionally. It is a commitment to sustainable growth throughout the territory and linked industries, with the wine that acts as the ambassador for “Made in Italy” worldwide, which becomes a leading driver of tourism”.

The “Masi Operations & Visitor Centre” is another example of the social responsibility that Masi has always placed firmly in the centre of its growth strategies, including occupational growth, which is hinged on social, economic and environmental sustainability.

The Amarone Costasera sealed the meeting with a toast amidst the evocative setting of the cellars, in front of the famous cask that symbolises the Masi Prize, which for 41 years now has been consecrating the “champions” of Venetian civilisation, the culture of wine and solidarity on an international level.
