Masi Lunatio and Beldosso two Lugana wines heralding sustainability

Two traditional Veronese whites that supplement the organic offering from the wine cellar specialising in wines from the Venezie

Masi expands its product portfolio with the Lugana DOC Masi Lunatio and Beldosso, thus offering the market its “organic” version of one of the characteristic denominations from the Garda area, which have been uncovered and appreciated in Italy and abroad too. The company has further extended its range of white wines, reintroducing a wine that is part of its tradition: Masi Lunatio in fact has been for a ling time part of the production.

Masi Lunatio Lugana DOC 2019 and Beldosso Lugana DOC 2018 embrace the contemporary style of Cantine Masi to produce a great classic from the Verona wine-making school, the Lugana DOC, produced with traditional Trebbiano grapes in choice vineyards, in the historic area of production which stretches over the rolling hills to the south of lake Garda, between the provinces of Verona and Brescia.

“They are both organic wines, made with grapes grown in a sustainable manner, according to the protocol set out by Project “Uve di qualità” (Quality grapes) of GTM, the Masi Technical Group, which has always paid the utmost attention to respecting the local terroir and the environment, heralding our culture and the Masi Green philosophy”, explains Raffaele Boscaini, GTM Coordinator.

Masi Lunatio 2019 stands out for its immediate drinkability and fresh flavour. Pale yellow in colour, it offers the nose an unexpected aromatic intensity, which recalls pineapples and citrus fruit. The palate confirms the nose, appreciating its lively acidity and the very dry, slightly grassy aftertaste. It is ideal as an appetizer or to accompany starters, pasta dishes and Mediterranean flavours and light fish recipes. Here's the detail page of Lunatio

Beldosso 2018, produced with selected grapes, presents a good structure thanks to its 4-month refining process in oak barrels followed by a year in steel, and is placed on the market the second year after harvesting: it is a bold and significant white. It features a rather full golden yellow hue, expressed on the nose with intense citrus and passion-fruit scents; light notes of vanilla also leave their mark. The mouth-feel is consequently full and expressive, with an intriguing aftertaste reminiscent of almonds. This is a Lugana which, beyond appetizers, is the perfect wine to accompany fish and shellfish starters, risottos and pasta with light sauces, and white meat. It is perfect with pizza. Here's the detail page of Beldosso

Masi CEO Federico Girotto commented: “In such a complex and delicate phase for our country, it is vital that we continue to oversee the markets and show signs of business continuity on the part of our companies. We are fortunate that at this time, in fact, Masi is in a position to present its two Lugana wines, devised by the Technical Group to be respectful of traditions and yet contemporary owing to their eco-awareness and quality. Masi is known all over the world for the excellence of its red wines, Amarone first and foremost, but today we are proud to announce the expansion of our offering with two significant white wines, which supplement the other great expressions of white wines from the Venezie, from our vineyards in Trentino, Veneto and Friuli”.
