Masi together with the youth of the Malaspina juvenile prison in Palermo

To accompany the tasting of our wines, Masi has developed a line of pastries, inspired by traditional family recipes, the production of which has been entrusted to COTTI IN FRAGRANZA, the laboratory created in 2016 within the juvenile detention centre of Malaspina, Palermo, preparing high quality baked goods as an opportunity to allow the young inmates to gain rehabilitation experience and social inclusion.

“Our family has always attributed the value of sharing and authenticity to meetings at the table. This custom involves accompanying the wine with products and dishes typical of our lands. Today, these ancient recipes, handed down for seven generations, are prepared by our kitchen to enrich the experience alongside our wines. To do so, we have chosen to collaborate with ‘Cotti in fragranza’, a good project based on a precise ethics of responsibility, in which the young men and women involved take a lead role in production. It is a cutting-edge social business that uses high quality raw materials for excellent production”, the Raffaele Boscaini Marketing Director of Masi Agricola explains.
To celebrate this collaboration, on Wednesday 16th June, we have planned a tasting-dinner at Tenuta Canova in Lazise de Garda, one of the real jewels of the MasiWineExperience, in the mark of social and environmental sustainability. Some of the proceeds will be used to purchase new machinery for the prison baking laboratory.
The Masi chef, Vitangelo Galluzzi and the Sicilian chef, Francesco Gambino of the “Cotti in Fragranza” project, will be preparing a four-handed dinner for guests, a real journey through the flavours of the cuisine of Veneto and Sicily. It will provide the opportunity to present and taste Fresco di Masi, the new line of organic wines only recently launched on the international markets, interpreters of a renewed vision of sustainability, from production techniques through to packaging, and an expression of increasingly responsible consumption, attentive to the well-being of individuals and the planet.
“Our wonderful Italy offers countless emotions that show the diversity of cultures and this is also seen at the table. When this goodness is associated with worthy initiatives, such as that of “Cotti in Fragranza”, the whole value is also transferred to an ethical and solidarity level”, Raffaele Boscaini concludes.
