Milano Fashion Week 2020: Masi wines is the wine partner of the VOGUE YOOX CHALLENGE event

A special pairing heralding sustainability

Wines made by the Masi Group, leader in the production of Amarone, are among the stars of the exclusive evening organised by Vogue Italia and YOOX, during Milan Fashion Week 2020.

In the charming Church of San Paolo Converso in Milan, the Verona-based wine maker accompanied the event for the launch of Vogue YOOX Challenge - The Future of Responsible Fashion, the scouting project whose aim is to support designers, creative minds and start-up companies that have decided to invest in a responsible and sustainable approach through innovative projects.

Gathered together for the occasion was an exceptional crowd of international names supporting the project: Emanuele Farneti (Director of Vogue Italia), Federico Marchetti (Chairman and Managing Director of Yoox Net-a-porter Group), Amber Valletta (model, actress and activist) and Carlo Capasa (Chairman of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion), Anna Wintour (director of Vogue US), Bianca Balti (model), Eva Herzigova (model and editor at large of Vogue Czech Republic) and Liya Kebede (model, actress and women’s rights activist); all the guests toasted with the prized labels produced by Masi, which marked every moment of the evening, from the appetizers to the seated dinner.

The ideal warm welcome was provided by the bubbles of the Brut Valdobbiadene docg di Canevel, a dry spumante with a delicate fragrance, made using the Sétage spumante-making method. Paired with the vegetarian menu, created specifically for the occasion by the three-star “Da Vittorio” restaurant, were two emblematic wines: the elegant and fruity Rosa dei Masi rosé wine, and the iconic Amarone Costasera, the flagship Masi red across the globe. A final toast was made with the Millesimato Canevel, another symbol of the Valdobbiadene premium spumante wine maker, with a mellow and elegant flavour.

Raffaele Boscaini, marketing director of Masi, who attended the dinner, commented as follows: “Wine and fashion have a very similar dynamic pace in inter-personal relations; it is no incident that the term “taste” is used in both cases. Wine and fashion also allow each and every one of us to express our own style by choosing what we like and also what best represents us”.

The core topic of the evening was sustainability, one of the fundamental values of the culture and philosophy of Cantine Masi, which with project “Masi Green” bears witness to the company’s focus on the environment across the entire production supply chain. A constant commitment towards sustainable, quality production, which over recent years has given rise to a very popular range of organic products.
