Mister Amarone: the making of an Italian wine phenomenon

Amarone, a wine that derives from Valpolicella and manages to be both earthy and noble in character at the same time, has become a flagship of Italian goods abroad, capable of upsetting received opinions with its character as “a modern wine with an ancient heart”.

This amazing product is the subject of the book “Mister Amarone. The making of an Italian wine phenomenon” (In Italian as Mister Amarone. Un uomo e un vino dal Veneto al mondo) by the English journalist and writer, Kate Singleton. This latest edition contains an update on events concerning Amarone in recent years, made even more relevant by the international acclaim now accorded to Valpolicella’s most famous wine.

Much of the story of the modern history of Amarone is told in the words of Sandro Boscaini, President of Masi Agricola, who is both an authoritative ambassador for the company as well as an internationally recognised expert on the wine world.

Published by the well-reputed Mondadori Electa company, the book was officially launched in Milan at the Libreria Rizzoli in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and is on sale both in independent and Mondadori group bookshops in Italy. Both the Italian and the English versions of the book can be bought online through Mondadoristore, Feltrinelli, Amazon and IBS, and in the Masi shops.
