The Masi Group reaffirmed its status as leader in the winemaking industry, ranking at the top of some of the most prestigious Italian wine guides of 2019. Our wines received the highest awards from Italy's Wine Guide Gambero Rosso, the Essential Guide to the Wines of Italy of Daniele Cernilli "Doctorwine", and the Gold Guide - The Wines of Veronelli and Bibenda.
It’s three of a kind for the Costasera Riserva 2013 Amarone Classico, which managed to convince the entire panel of critics, receiving the prestigious three glasses from Gambero Rosso, five grape bunches from Bibenda and a score of 95/100 from Doctorwine.
Another majestic Amarone produced by the Masi family, the cru Mazzano 2011, received yet another award of excellence: five grape bunches from Bibenda, Three Super Stars from Veronelli and a score of 97/100 from Doctorwine.
"We are honoured that once again this year, our Amarone was ranked among the best by some of the most prestigious wine guides of Italy. Costasera Riserva and Mazzano represent the most authentic and modern expressions of our land and of our Company’s expertise when it comes to grape drying. Decades of research conducted by our Technical Department helped Masi to reinvent the Amarone wine at the beginning of the 1980s, with the introduction on the market of the “modern” version of the Costasera. Critics now see the Costasera Riserva as having made a further step towards the “post-modernisation” of the Amarone wine, setting a challenge for the future of the winemaking industry. The Oseleta grape variety and the care and attention to the most minute detail are its underlying secrets. These impressive accomplishments at the end of a year see the Masi Group being named Winery of 2018 by Gambero Rosso and once again as the undisputed star on the global stage."
Also, Campofalco Valdobbiadene bio of Canevel Spumanti, the first product since Canevel became a part of the Masi Group in 2016, was awarded the prestigious three Glasses by the Gambero Rosso Wine Guide.
